Making the start of the week more bearable with Minimal Monday thanks to Boohoo.

Long black coat for minimalist style.

I’ve got places to go & people to see. By which I mean the places are frozen yogurt parlours & those people are actually plates of food.

Black draped pants & black leather bag from Minskat Copenhagen.

If your Mondays are anything like mine, you’re probably laying in bed watching reruns of the Simpsons & dispersing a nice layer of peanut butter & Nutella sandwich crumbs all over your bed whinging about how cold it is.
I’m just kidding. I don’t eat in bed, the crumbs are all over my desk. Does that make me sound less like a slob?*

If your Mondays are anything like a normal person’s, then you could probably do with some Minimal Monday style to kick a hectic week off & there’s no better way to do that then with a classic black duster coat – I’ve been wearing this Boohoo one everywhere – & some monochromatic basics.

I wore this to the city last Friday (much to the dismay of my younger brother) but if I actually had things to do on a Monday (getting frozen yogurt doesn’t count as important?) then I’d be starting the week of with something minimal like this. But if making people guess whether you’re a ten year old boy or twenty-something girl isn’t a favourite past time of yours, you could always opt in for some more streamlined pants or a pair of skinny jeans & some heeled sandals to wear with your coat, remembering simple is key. Also remembering that frozen yogurt is essential. Never forget the yogurt.

*I would have already been killed via Asian mother if I had been eating in bed.

  • LOVE this slouchy minimalist look. So happy that minimal is making it’s way back, it means less stressful dressing and more emphasis on beautiful classic pieces.

  • Love this minimalist outfit, you’re looking very cool! I don’t quite see the ten-year old boy, but you could be a stylish hitwoman (is that what they would call a female hitman?). Especially in the shots where you’re looking over your shoulder 😉
(Though leave out the fur ball pooping, it would make you far less intimidating. Haha, that little comment of yours nearly made me choke on my drink)

OK love this post but especially love your writing, “I’ve got places to go and people to see and those places are frozen yogurt places and the people are actually plates of food”. Such a great look, the black against the white picket is edgy.

  • Looove this look! I have a very similar duster coat from Boohoo as well but in a beige colour. When they had their sale I bought so many coats and winter gear. Btw I spent last night with my bf checking out your Japan trip posts! I am soo excited and the posts really helped us decide where to go. I’m dying to go to Disneyland and Disneysea and I would’ve totally gone to the Sanrio one as well but lucky I read your post. Thanks for all your help!! 🙂

    • I’m obsessed with the duster coat! It goes with everything!
& glad the posts helped. My Tokyo/Japan one will be up soon, when I stop being such a lazy ass. I would love to go to Sanrio Puroland again but if it’s anything like the last time we went I definitely won’t go next time. Queuing isn’t really a huge hobby of mine but let me know when you’re in Perth. Lunch & coffee sounds like a plan!

  • Your photos are alwayss so gorgeous! I love this look, that jacket is so gorgeous!
