Organic Cleaning Products That Work

Organic cleaning products that actually work? Not a myth.

Organic Choice Australia review. Organic cleaning products.

THE ORGANIC CHOICE

I need a high level of cleanliness in my life to be able to function properly. I get distracted unbelievably easily & if there’s a smudge on something or a pile of dirty plates in the sink, you can bet your ass I will be over amending those problems (especially if I have assignments due at the same time) straight away before anything else can be done. I’m the type pf person who starts cleaning when visiting someone at their house.

Being organised though? Totally different story. My life somewhat represents assorted piles of things. Clean things. Oh & post it notes.

But I digress. Cleaning usually entails chemical cocktails & dangerous fumes. My least favourite part. Or more accurately, the only part I don’t like.

& have you ever cleaned without gloves on? I have (mainly because I’m too lazy to put them on) & using regular cleaning products always makes my skin dry, tight & shiny. The fumes also give me a headache.

In an effort to be more ecologically conscious & also in the interest of my son’s safety, I’ve been trying out the Organic Choice range & I didn’t think it was possible, but I love cleaning even more now.

Organic Choice West Indian lime & coconut dishwashing liquid review.

My favourite scent from the range would hands down have to be West Indian lime & coconut. It smells exactly what it should smell like. The lime is & the coconut is sweet. Don’t worry, I haven’t tasted them but I have been using the heck out of the dishwashing liquid. I usually have a ceramic pump dispenser on the corner of my kitchen sink which I transfer dishwashing liquid into but I don’t mind the design of these bottles sitting on the sink. The minimalist, apothecary vibes look nice enough to not have to put away & the bottle is easy enough to use without making a huge mess all over the counter.

Does it clean though? All the kitchen products cut through grease effortlessly & leave behind a really nice scent. Without that chemical headache. What more do you want from a dishwashing liquid?

How to keep your kitchen clean with little effort.
How to organise your pantry.

WHO HASN’T LEFT A LONE, FORGOTTEN POTATO TO ROT IN THEIR PANRTY BEFORE?

A COUPLE SPRITZ OF AN ORGANIC CHOICE AIR FRESHENER IS ENOUGH TO SORT THAT OUT. THAT, & THROWING OUT THE CULPRIT.

Organic air freshener. Organic cleaning products.

I usually have a really bad allergic reaction to scented sprays. Most perfumes give me a headache, make my eyes burn, my nose run & my throat swell up. Pesticides tend to block my airways & send me to the ER (true story) & air fresheners can make me dizzy with minimal effort on part of the sprayer (why am I sharing easy ways to kill Shannon on the internet?)

Although reluctant to try out the Organic Choice air fresheners, I can confidently say that I do not fear that they are trying to kill me. My favourite part about them (& the rest of the Organic Choice range) is that I can read the short ingredients list & understand every single ingredient on there.

& their cute apothecary style bottles blend into their surroundings easily making them easily accessible. No need to hide them in your cupboards. I keep one on top of my bookshelf and the other one in a basket in the bathroom.

Cleaning with Organic products.
Do organic products really work?

I used to think that heavily poison based blends were necessary for a clean bathroom. I also though having tight, stretchy skin after cleaning was part of the package deal. The Organic Choice shower & vanity cleaner has proven me wrong in both categories. I can easily clean while I’m in the shower & have no problems with leaving the bottle in there for whenever it’s needed, because I’m not worried about dangerous chemical concoctions coming into contact with my son. Of course, you still shouldn’t leave cleaning products in reach of children, but I know my son will never bother picking up a cleaning product in the first place so having it in the shower makes it easier.

But does it work? I have to admit, a bunch of organic oils & surfactants would clean anything but I’ll let to photos about do the talking. I cleaned the whole shower in about seven minutes flat. I just sprayed & scrubbed the grout with a toothbrush as I went, then rinsed it all down afterwards. For me, that means rinsing it while I shower.

Using organic options in your home for cleaning.

TIP! I ALWAYS SEE PEOPLE CLEANING MIRRORS & GLASS WITH DANGEROUS CLEANERS & THEN WIPING WITH CLOTHS OR PAPER TOWELS. USING NEWSPAPER IS AN EASY WAY TO GET A STREAK-FREE SHINE BECAUSE NEWPAPER HAS A LOT LESS LOOSE FIBRES THAN CLOTHS & PAPER TOWELS. THE DANGEROUS CHEMICALS ARE COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY. IF YOU HAVE A REALLY STUBBORN MARK, THEN SCRUB IT WITH SOMETHING A LITTLE MORE ABRASIVE (THAT IS, IF YOU KNOW THE SURFACE CAN HANDLE IT) THEN WIPE AWAY AFTERWARDS WITH NEWSPAPER.

Quality organic cleaning products.

So, what is my honest opinion about the Organic Choice range? I can truly say I love this range. Organic is always great, but I love that I can read what goes into these products without having to google specific ingredients. I can spray & wipe down my kitchen bench with the multipurpose spray & if I drop all of the food off of the chopping board, I don’t have to worry about throwing it all out, or picking it up then eating chemicals because these products literally contain all natural ingredients & nothing that will kill me. Obviously, don’t use them if you’re allergic to any of the ingredients.

I also love that I can use them without gloves & my skin stays soft & I love the minimalist, apothecary aesthetic of the bottles which blends seamlessly into our everyday life. I can have the products on hand, when I need them, without having to dig them out of the cupboards.

I definitely will be replacing my usual cleaning products with the Organic Choice range. Oh, & how did I forget? These organic cleaning products are definitely affordable so why not add some guilt free luxe to your cleaning routine?

This post in collaboration with Organic Choice but as always, all opinions remain honest & my own. Organic Choice is available at Cole Supermarkets nationally.

  • I am all for using organic and natural cleaning products. I may even have some of the exact products you are sharing in this post in my cleaning cupboard right now. My main cleaning staples include good old white vinegar, bicarb soda and eucalyptus oil. Honestly you don’t need much more than that in life.

  • Lime and coconut? Wow, count me in! And about the newspaper method for clean mirrors, you’re so dang right, girlie. We do it over here but since I’ve completely turned into a giant bum, the mirrors in my house are pretty dusty. I need to get me off this chair and start cleaning. I adore how organized you are, it’s one of the things that’s hard to ignore coming to your blog. The last time I remember you wrote of minimalist sponges which got me to ponder about the state of my living space. And now, organic cleansing liquid that smells divine and non-toxic? I feel rather inspired and hopefully will start cleaning soon, with my hands and feet (not just my mind, hahah). Thankies, Shannon 😀 xx Love your enthusiastic cleaning btw! 😀

  • I’m guilty of using the same cleaning products I’ve always used, having grown up watching my mum use particular ones. It’s definitely time to become more mindful and start thinking about other options though! Hope you’re having a lovely week so far..

  • Oh my husband is much the same – always cleaning everything and his definition of “clean” is to the next level. Glad to hear about this. I tried an organic stain remover recently and I was actually quite disappointed with it.
